Heavy Duty House Cleaning Tips

Heavy duty house cleaning tips are provided to you by Hoarders911. Heavy duty house cleaning is a much more involved process than regular house cleaning. Heavy duty house cleaning can range anywhere from:

  • Clutter cleanup

  • Rubbish removal

  • Extermination

  • Organization

  • Sanitize, disinfect,

  • Odor removal

  • Paint

  • Repair

  • Restoration

Although not all of these steps might be involved in an individual heavy duty cleaning, the combination of any two of these is what separates heavy duty cleaning from typical housekeeping. The following are some tips to make a heavy home cleaning a little simpler for the do-it-yourselfer:

  1. Designate an area for discarded items and trash: Constant trips back and forth for rubbish removal can add unnecessary time to your chores. Instead, try designating an area for anything being removed from your home such as trash and items for sale or donation. This way, you can set everything aside to be removed at once at the end, and focus on cleaning your home.

  2. Seal gaps and cracks before extermination: If during your heavy home cleaning, you find that extermination is necessary, be sure to seal off any nooks and crannies in your walls or floors before applying a treatment. The only way to make sure your products are effective is if the pests have nowhere to hide.

  3. Repurpose items: Things like jars, empty boxes, and extra shower rings can be used as organizational tools – as long as they’re clean. Before discarding items and spending lots of money purchasing closet solutions, see if you can use what you’ve already got lying around. But don’t spend too much time dwelling on it, if you can’t find an immediate use for something, it’s best to just toss it.

  4. Use the right tool for the job: Different stains need different types of cleaners. Water spots require different products than grease stains, and ceramic sinks require much different care than stainless steel ones. Make sure to do your research so that your cleaning is as efficient as possible.

  5. Protect flooring and furniture: Whenever doing repairs, or painting the home, it is important to protect the area by laying down newspapers or plastic. The last thing you’d want is to create double work for yourself by getting paint and plaster all over your freshly cleaned home. This is a great way to repurpose any stacks of paper that might have piled up before discarding them.
